You said yes, your maid of honour said yes to you, and now you have to plan. A fun and easy way to start planning your wedding is to hit up some of Ontario’s bridal shows. There are two big bridal show seasons, the first being between January and March and the second being in the fall, so right now is the perfect opportunity to put on a pair of comfortable walking shoes and start building your wedding network. Here are some tips for how to make the most out of your day at a bridal show.

Map Your Day

Most bridal shows, especially the larger ones, will post a vendor map to their website before the event. It shows the layout, booth numbers, and where the bathrooms, coat check, and other important areas are. Before you go, take a look at the map online and even print a copy out to take with you on the day. Figuring out your route before you go will help you stay on track. Make sure you hit up every booth, so you can get all the vendor information you need and free samples you want. You can also look up which booths might be hosting a contest and check them off on your map as you go, so you don’t miss a thing!

Who to Bring

You obviously want some company while you’re scoping out vendors and getting inspired, but the saying “too many cooks in the kitchen” does apply to wedding planning. We would recommend keeping your guest list to you, your fiance, your maid of honour, and maybe a parent. If more people are interested in coming, you can always shuffle the ranking if you are going to multiple wedding shows.

You also must wear a pair of comfy shoes, and bring a zippered tote to store business cards in. Or, simply take pictures of each business card with your phone, paperless is green.
